On August 10, 1979, Michael Jackson released his first solo album as an adult with Epic records. Michael used Quincy Jones as his producer for the album. The album "Off the Wall" was internationally successful selling over 20 million copies worldwide. The album took nearly one and half years for Michael to create and perfect. On October 16, 2001, Sony Records re-released "Off the Wall" along with many other Michael Jackson albums. In 2001, music critics still gave great praise to the album and work Michael Jackson had put into it. In 2003, the album was ranked 68 on Rolling Stones list of 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
