On this day, April 13, 1973, at the age of 14 Michael Jackson released his third solo album titled Music & Me. The album sold just 2 million copies as it received very little promotion from Motown Records as Michael Jackson was on a tour with The Jackson 5. Michael Jackson had written his own songs for the album but Motown Records denied him of his rights to release his own music. Michael waited two years to release his fourth studio album as his vocals were changing and he wanted the best vocals for the albums. Music & Me came with four singles titled:
1. With A Child's Heart
2. Morning Glow
3. Music and Me
4. Happy
Motown Records re-released Music & Me in 2009 after Michael Jackson's sudden death.
